I was born in the North West of England to a Welsh mother and an Irish father. I went to Hornsey College of Art in London in and on to Newport College of Art in Monmouthshire.
After many years of living and working in the USA, Manchester, Newcastle on Tyne and for a very long time in London, I moved to Pembrokeshire in 2002 – the happy conclusion to a thirty year long dream.
Landscape is a potent and persistent source, which ‘translates’ itself unconsciously into abstract composition.
Colour, mark making and the physicality of the painted surface are the most important elements of my work.
