This Friday September the 14th, The Gallery Yr Oriel Newport Pembs in conjunction with Ysgol Bro Gwaun / Fishguard Secondary School, will be launching an exciting Community Art Competition!
‘We are looking for Art to display in the new build at Ysgol Bro Gwaun to inspire pupils creativity to connect with their environment. The competition is open to any age group in the area, any art medium can be used, and the minimum size has to be A2′.
We hope to get as many entries as possible for the competition, and encourage anybody in the Fishguard area to submit work on the theme – Land, Sea, Sky.
The submission date is Wednesday November 14th, and work should be handed in to the office at the new secondary school.
Seven judges have been allocated to review the work, and following a decision, there will be a presentation and prize giving evening at the school on Friday December 7th.
Please do call Helen on 01239 821514 if you have any questions!
The Gallery Yr Oriel Newport Pembs is launching a new show on September 7th for the St Dogmaels artist Clare Rose.
Clare Rose has been painting North Pembs for over 25 years, and this new selection of work is the culmination of 6 months of ‘in the moment’ paintings illustrating her stunning command of palette and diverse genre. Much of Clare’s work are of familiar views, but her unique take on ‘light’ and ‘shade’ make her work stand out.
This show is a must see!
